Our partner Windsurf centre in Tobago  is headed up by Brett and Aleks, A Husband and Wife whose love for the ocean can only be matched by their never quenching thirst for Life. Its easy to imagine what brought Brett back home to Trinidad and Tobago, the Amazing Wind, Empty Tourquise Waters and Lush Landscapes but having no previous windsurf or kite background prior to the purchase of the shop in 2010, it was really taking a leap of faith. Following a dream, relentless drive to succeed and love for what he does led him to create something special at Radical Sports Tobago. His wife and business partner Aleks travelled the world searching for the perfect wind spot that had it all. She found herself time and time again returning to one of the Caribbean's best kept secrets, Tobago. Her input and style has lent to the success and modernaization of Radical Sports. They are joined by Andrelle again as our head "Liming Instructor" with Free lance kite and windsurf instructors Nigel, Orion and the rest of the Radical Gang.

The Pigeon Point beach is protected by the Buccoo Reef, creating an ideal environment for windsurfing. Acting as a breakwater, the reef protects the Bon Accord Lagoon, Coral Gardens and Nylon Pools from the open Caribbean Sea. The prevailing winds are cross shore from the right, switching to on-shore many days in the main season. The main windsurfing season is usually mid to late December through to May/June.

During the high season, December to May, lessons are available with our professional multi lingual instructors who can teach beginner to advance lessons.

Now with mountain bikes also available for hire from the Windsurf centre it makes getting to and from the centre a lot easier. Pre-booking of the mountain bikes are suggested.

Rescue service is normally limited to 1 rescue per day assuming you are an independent kiter, able to ride up wind. Local charges may apply for extra rescues.

For Storage and rescue services, you may be required to produce a VDWS/IKO/RYA or equivalent licence to prove your ability (For Egypt this is mandatory, and if unable to provide you will need to do a skills test and pay for a licence locally)

You don’t need to be super-fit to kitesurf and the kit is lightweight, so you don’t need lots of muscle strength either. But of course, a decent level of fitness will help you to progress faster. Your instructor will be there to support you, coach you, and more importantly, keep you safe through the learning process. We will schedule your course to start on your first full day, but you must remain available to the school to work around local wind and sea conditions, as well as instructor availability.

    You must be able to demonstrate safe setup and use of the equipment, and be able to ride upwind (most of the time). If the centre feels that you are not yet ready to Wing foil independently they may swap out some of the rental value for instruction.  

    For rental of equipment, you may be required to produce a VDWS/IKO/RYA or equivalent licence to prove your ability to rent (For Egypt this is mandatory, and if unable to provide you will need to do a skills test and pay for a licence locally)

    Private 1-1 Wingfoil instruction is the best and fastest way to learn to Foil, improve, or master a specific trick or move. Lessons are normally in 1-2 hour sessions, but you can discuss this with your personal instructor.

    For anyone who has never tried wing foiling before, during this wing foil course, you will learn the very basics of Wing foiling. This includes how to use the wing and foil - to your first rides in both directions. Private lessons will ensure fast progression.
