The spot in Le Morne is definitely every windsurfer's dream. It has white sandy beaches, a turquoise lagoon, and shallow water. The entire lagoon is surrounded by a reef 600 meters off the beach. Within the lagoon, freeriders, racers, and freestylers will all find perfect conditions. Outside on the reef, experienced windsurfers will find a variety of world-class wave spots.

For the more advanced windsurfers, here are four main waves at Le Morne : Little Reef: Ideal for beginners looking to start wave navigation. Chameau and Manawa: Located a bit further offshore, these waves are higher and more powerful but with greater depth. They are suitable for intermediate levels. One Eye: This wave is characterized by shallow waters and considerable power. It is reserved for experienced wave riders with their own kite, wing, or windsurfing equipment.

Safety is ensured to with a constand lookout and rescue boat. There is a flag system in place to control access to the outer reef dependng on the conditions. It is impertive that you register with the Windsurf Centre before going on the water, and you follow the safety protocols.

There are broadly two seasons in Mauritius: the hot humid Summer (November - Apr) and the cooler, windy Winter (May to October). The warmest months are December to February, when temperatures are in the mid 30's, with the risk of tropical cyclones in late Jan / early Feb. The cooler wind season from May to November has temperatures starting from mid 20's getting progressively warmer up to the low 30's. Although you can get wind all year round in Mauritius, the prime season is June to November, with the top month being August to October.
